Practice Guidelines for Women's Health and Women's Imaging

The menu below contains navigation to numerous resources and practice guidelines for healthcare professionals involved in women's health, breast imaging and women's imaging.

The directories available herein point to guidelines developed by the American College of Radiology (ACR) and guidelines developed by other organizations such as the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The ACR has developed two kinds of practice guideline documents: the ACR Appropriateness Criteria and ACR Standards. ACR Appropriateness Criteria offers a consensus opinion on the appropriateness of various imaging or interventional options in a given clinical situation while ACR Standards address why and how to perform specific imaging or intervention.

The National Guideline Clearinghouse (NGC) is a public resource for evidence-based clinical practice guidelines. Thousands of resources are available through a searchable database at the NCG website. NGC is sponsored by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality in partnership with the American Medical Association and the American Association of Health Plans.
